Great for Snoqualmie.
I bought this last minute for a downhill trail marathon, and in the end was impressed. The came about two weeks before the race, and I did a few break end runs to put some miles on them and see how they felt. At first, I was very concerned about the tongue area and some pinching I initially felt, but the more I wore them, the better they felt.For race day, I actually was still in the Porta when the race started, so I had to sprint to catch back up to the 3:30 group (which was probably a bad idea.. but the shoes felt good at 7:00 pace.) After catching the group, I settled into my 7:50 target pace before diving into the 2 mile tunnel.Everything went well until mile 18, and then my lack of multiple long runs started setting in and I hit the wall by mile 20. But I death shuffled my way to 3:40-something which was no fault of the shoes, just my own bad training. By the end of the race, my feet were tired but not sore. The shoes did great on the continuous downhill and held the surface great (even when the rains came in mile 22). These are a great return to form for Brooks!

Great racing day shoes
This is my first pair with carbon plates and I could definitely feel the difference. I typically run in a Ghost but wanted to try a pair with carbon fiber plates without breaking the bank. The Hyperion Elite 3 was a great choice. I felt better throughout my race run and could tell that lightweight shoes helped. I’ll definitely enjoy my races more with the Hyperion Elite Elite 3’s.

These shoes are fast! First run, I shaved a minute off my time! They are stiff and not cushioning at all. Great race shoes but not for training.

Comfortable ride and felt lively
These shoes are highly underrated and an absolute steal at its current discounted priced. While not a hyper shoe, these offer a comfortable ride with great energy return. Been running on a mix of Glycerins, Ghosts, and Hyperion Maxs and on today’s run out of the box, the Hyperion Elites were quick.If you have been on the fence, buy these now while still available. I may by a second pair for back up!

Made my jog faster but
They did what was claimed – that carbon fiber plate shaved almost 2 minutes from my normal jog. It could just be psychological, but I felt the transition was smoother. Perhaps that was how I got faster.But I felt more sore in my hip areas. This could very likely be overcome as I got more used to the shoes. However, I might also have put more stress on my hip joint areas, which I didn’t want and tried to avoid.Coupled with the fact that these were more expensive than my Ghosts, I can only give it a 3-star rating.Comfort level was about the same.

Great racing shoe
Finally bought a pair of shoes “just for racing”. The carbon fiber plates really reduce shoe weight and my first run in these shoes is already faster than I usually run. Love those high tech laces too!

Awesome fit
I ran the mt nebo marathon in Utah in these. It’s rained for 30 minutes and one of the insoles end up slipping up into the bridge of my foot. I ended up ripping it our for the last 4 miles. I still like the race shoes for the price. Im a fan of brooks. I went a half size under, I’ll be replacing the insoles
