Comfortable enough for fibromyalgia sufferer and supercute (but mesh, so not water-resistant)
I have fibromyalgia, and really need a comfortable shoe to do any walking at all (bye bye heels–or even Docs, too heavy). But I’m very self-conscious wearing tennis shoes: I’m a 51-year-old woman who still wears fairly trendy clothes (comfortable but wide leg jeans, crop tops), but I am by no means a sneakerhead. Before this, Onitsuka Tigers, Chucks, and Sambas were my go-to sneakers. So my use case is not trail running or anything–I’m simply looking for something VERY comfortable and at least reasonably attractive.I had previously bought the New Balance Fresh Foam More style, but that was TOO MUCH foam. Fibromyalgia also causes balance issues, and the stacked platform of foam on those made me decidedly tippy. That said, I appreciated the padding–not to mention that the colorways of NB are a zillion times better than those of Hoka or a comparable shoe IMO, and NB seems to fit better (Hokas always seem narrow, even though I have a fairly standard-width foot).I saw mixed reviews online for this Hierro style, but when I found the 1) yellow colorway 2) on Amazon Outlet (a/k/a Warehouse) 3) for an additional 25% off on a Prime Day sale, and still returnable for at least 30 days … what’s not to try. It was around $60 for a shoe that retails for at least $130.And they’re GREAT. A 10.5 fit my 10.5 foot great–as New Balance seems to always. The toebox was plenty wide, and the heel narrow enough. Comfortwise, also perfect: cushy, but not so stacked my newly clumsy self falls over. And in terms of style: these are almost as cool as my old Onitsukas: the yellow is totally my jam. I wore them most of the summer. The only thing that I do not like is that the front toe area is mesh. I live in the Pacific Northwest, where it rains nine months of the year, and they just aren’t sensible most days in the winter. Summers it’s a drought, sun all day, and it’s fine, but these have zero water resistancy. That said, they’re also well-aerated for hot days (I don’t go sans socks, but you probably could get away with it).I honestly can’t speak to how well they grip on a trail, but for walks of around twenty blocks by someone with an amplified nervous system that feels pain 10x more quickly and severely than most, these are absolute lifesavers. And good looking to boot.

Great sneakers
After two tries with another brand, I found these sneakers. They fit perfectly, true to size. I love the look and they ‘re very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Good quality and excellent soles
1st pair of New Balance shoes. I was surprised I had to go with a 7.5 wide sine I have never taken a wide shoe in my life. They are very comfortable and lots of cushion. Vibram soles make them excellent for traction and outdoor hikes. I love that they are water resistant for morning hikes and rainy days.

VERY wide, much wider than the last version.
I’m an ex semi-pro triathlete. I’ve had a few injuries and I’m not 29 any more, so I’m very picky about my shoes. I used to only run on roads for speed but do trails now that I’m retired from competing. This is my second pair of NB Hierro trail shoes. My first pair were v7 Gore-Tex, and they were the best trail shoes I ever had! They’re very comfortable, have enough cushioning & protection, but I can still feel the ground which I like because they’re more agile. They’re light enough, and they look nice. And I love the toe protect! It has saved my toenails more than once. And both the cushioning and tread last incredibly long – longer than Nike and much longer than Brooks. I like these better than the Nike Pegasus trails because I felt my heels slip in the new Pegasus trails and because these have the toe protect and they last much longer, although I still prefer Nike Pegasus and Nike Vomero on the road.I like to have a second pair of both road and trail shoes to alternate each, and I only need one pair of each with Gore-Tex for when it’s wet because without GTX they’re more breathable and a tiny bit lighter. These v8 have a different tread than the v7 that is more grippy; otherwise they feel identical. The only thing I don’t like about these is that they’re wider than the last model, why do not to be a dealbreaker. I actually double check the box to make sure they didn’t send me the wrong width. I probably won’t buy them again because of this. These arrived in a super beat up New Balance box with torn paper. Fortunately, I don’t really care about that. They were sealed in a plastic bag and then in another box that was in perfect condition for shipping. The shoes themselves are fine, but I can tell they’ve been tried on because the laces were twisted. Again, I don’t really care because I got them on sale and they’re otherwise brand new with the tags still on, but I thought I’d mention it for people who might care.

Happy hiking
I like them a lot they are true to size and have a sufficient amount of cushion. They are not rigid like a lot of trail shoes can be. They have a decent grip and are a good value for the money..we got them on sale. They are honestly really cool looking also. As far as durability in haven’t had them that long but I took them for a week in yosemite and they were great. Definitely worth a try

Amazingly Comfortable, Gripping Shoes
I buy two or three new pairs of tennis shoes every six months. I prefer to buy shoes that are last season or marked down. I purchased the Hierro shoes at full price, and was not disappointed. I need a hip replacement, and I fall often. Every surface on this shoe sticks to the surface I am walking on. I fall less when wearing these shoes. The fit is as expected. I have a wide forefoot, so I buy shoes with a wide fit. New Balance is the only brand that works for my feet. The shoes are durable and stylish- I highly recommend them.

Item fits nicely and very comfortable. My husband wants one but they all seem to be out of stock on the colours he wants. NB needs to gear up on production and availability.
