Actually tastes good. It’s also one of the only non-Stim products I’ve found and liked.

Worthy alternative to premixed sports drinks
This is actually one of four flavors of this BCAA drink mix I’m reviewing (the others are Peach Mango, Fruit Punch, and Tropical Punch). These are functionally more or less the same product, so most of this review applies to the other flavors as well. After about two months of regular use, I’ve found this drink mix to be a worthy alternative to the premixed sports drinks that I had previously relied upon for pre-workout hydration. Its main draw is that it contains the branched chain amino acids (BCAA’s) leucine, isoleucine, and valine in a 2:1:1 ratio. The effects of these BCAA’s won’t be massive, but they should help a bit around the edges with workout recovery, muscle fatigue, and the like. I also approve of the inclusion of electrolytes from interesting sources – sodium from Himalayan rock salt and (some) potassium from coconut water powder.Be advised that free amino acids do contain calories (3.4 kcal/g compared to 4 kcal/g in regular proteins), so the 7 grams of those free amino acids per serving contained in this product provide about 25 calories that don’t show up in the Supplement Facts label. This is kind of understandable given that most products with free amino acids don’t declare them at all, as they’re usually not present in enough quantity to make much of a caloric difference, but it’s still arguably misleading. To close out with some remarks specific to the Raspberry Lemonade flavor, I subjectively found it to be the best-tasting of them all, despite also being bracingly sour. That might not sound like the most ringing endorsement, but the way I see it, I care more about function than taste for a product like this one anyway.

Great BCAA+s and a very good flavor!
I love BCAAs. I was turned on to them by a workout buddy years ago, who told me it was to help muscle recovery. We knocked out a massive workout that night, and the next day, when I fully expected to be shuffling around like an old man, I was sore but it was very manageable. I was shocked. I was sold.Ever since I’ve tried different flavors, including unflavored. BCAAs taste horrific. It’s a flavor that socks you in the face and doesn’t leave you for a while. There’s not much you can mix it in that hides it well. Don’t do it to yourself. This is the second flavor I’ve tried by this brand. The flavors on both are excellent! You can taste just a hint of the BCAAs, but it’s so minor you can ignore it and it doesn’t kill the actual pleasant flavor on top. This brand makes a great product. I’ve used these BCAAs to help prevent soreness or reduce it once it’s there. Recovery is huge for me, so anything that improves that ability is worth its weight in gold. Not only does faster recovery mean you feel better, but it means you can workout again sooner and train harder. This product checks all of those boxes. If you like to exercise you owe it to yourself to aid your recovery. Try these BCAAs, you won’t be disappointed.I highly recommend!

Nutricost BCAA + Hydration Powder – Raspberry Lemonade
This powdered drink supplement comes in a good-sized 15.4oz container and has its own convenient scoop. With 30 servings per container, they’ll last a month of daily use, or a bit longer if, like me, you don’t work out every day. A scoop can be mixed with between 8 and 16 fl oz of water; I usually mix with about 12 ounces and it’s quite flavorful, so I imagine it would be almost overpowering in 8 ounces! The raspberry lemonade flavor actually tastes remarkably like raspberry lemonade, pleasantly sweetened (sucralose) without being overpowering. It mostly dissolves easily with a simple stir and doesn’t require a shaker cup. The only reason I say “mostly” is because it does have a sort of chalky powder component – I’m guessing that’s probably the calcium – which lends a slightly odd texture to the drink, but nothing too bothersome. This is my first time trying a BCAA supplement before my workouts, and so far, I really like that it doesn’t make me feel jittery, and I don’t seem to have any adverse effects from it at all.
