Good investment if the 7ft is just too unwieldy
When I received it, the box was banged up and some of the product was peeking out. When I opened it up everything was in good condition but the bar was covered in some oily substance. I thought about sending it back. But I took a chlorox wipe and cleaned it off and it came clean, no residue. The ends spin independent of the main unit so it may have been some sort of lubricant.I’ve enjoyed using it. I’m 5’5″ and the standard 7′ barbell makes me feel like a tightrope walker holding a long pole. But having this shorter barbell makes everything easier, especially front squats and shoulder presses. You don’t have to balance as much on bench presses. It even does great in landmine attachments, you just have to adjust your distance until it feels right.Also note that the bar weighs 28 pounds instead of the standard 35, so it’s a little more accessible for smaller lifters. You can add plates to the bar but can’t remove any from a bare bar.The pink color is cute but if you use a landmine handle it chips off the color so if that matters to you just be aware. The matching collars/clamps are really solid. I ended up buying another set.A last note that the middle and ends of the bar can roll independently of each other. This has made for a couple funny moments during power cleans when things roll. It’s not dangerous, just kinda funny.

Smaller with perfect fit
I needed a shorter barbell, and I finally found this one, 5ft with the collars spaced like the 8ft one, so it fit my bench. The sleeves are shorter, but I don’t stack that many weights. The red and black match the bench, sprucing up the space.
